February 27, 2007 - A/D and Southwest Fireproofing - New and Revised Fire Test Designs new and revised UL fire test designs for A/D and Southwest Fireproofing. Many include the half flange thickness option. Thickness charts for varying beam  and column sizes are also available. Click here.

January 30, 2007 - A/D FIREFILM III - Improved column designs UL X669 and ULC Z626 add smaller W/D = 0.59, M/D = 34 for 1-hour wide flange column rating. UL X673 and ULC Z630 show a new thinner thickness for 1/4" (6.5 mm) wall pipe columns.  Go to the A/D FIREFILM III fire test design list.

August 30, 2006 - A/D FIREFILM III - new UL Design No. D948 - This state of the art design offers the thinnest beam protection for a 1-hour unrestrained beam rating with a 2-hour restrained assembly rating. Go to the A/D FIREFILM III fire test design list.

December 20, 2005 - A/D FIREFILMIII now available - we are pleased to introduce A/D FIREFILM III, the third generation of our industry leading water based thin-film intumescent fire resistive coating system. A/D FIREFILM III offers higher ratings, broader range of steel sizes and reduced thicknesses compared to A/D FIREFILM II. A/D FIREFILM III will be available January 2, 2005. A/D FIREFILM II will continue to be available only to complete projects that are already underway. Contact your A/D representative (Carboline in the USA) for more information.

January 22, 2004 - A/D Implements Use of New Temperature Tracking Devices for Shipping Water Based Products

Bulletin - Shipments of 6 or more pallets of A/D FIREFILM II, A/D BASECOAT, A/D FIREBARRIER Seal and Seal NS and TC-55 Sealer/Adhesive will now be fitted with "DeltaTRAK Temperature Recorder" devices. Smaller orders will continue to use "Freeze Watch" indicators.

November 26, 2003 - Field Tinting Procedure Approved by UL for A/D FIREBARRIER Seal NS

A field tinting procedure has been approved for Seal NS. This procedure permits contractors to tint Seal NS within a range of colors to match the surrounding construction. Download Seal NS Tinting Data Sheet 

Dec. 14, 2001 - Rock and slag wool are now considered not classifiable as to carcinogenicity to humans!

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has concluded its re-evaluation of the carcinogenic risk of airborne man-made vitreous fibres. The more commonly used vitreous fibre wools including insulation glass wool, rock (stone) wool and slag wool are now considered not classifiable as to carcinogenicity to humans (Group 3). This is good news for mineral wool products after having been negatively compared with asbestos for many years. Our MSDS for A/D FIREBARRIER Mineral Wool and Pillows and A/D TYPE FP, I and Thermal Barrier have been revised accordingly. For a product MSDS click here
